Written Feedback (formerly email) Handbook |
Virtual Meeting (formerly Skype) Handbook |
We now offer Written Feedback through WCOnline. Formerly handled through email instruction, this Written Feedback Handbook builds on your instructional expertise and your commitment to the Writing Center’s mission, and it will also push you to find new ways to recognize and address writers’ needs outside the swift give and take of verbal conversation.
Developing these skills connects you to the growing possibilities of online instruction while also advancing the feedback expertise required of you as a teacher. The goal of this handbook is to give you a research-grounded and experience-based approach to asynchronous written feedback. |
The pedagogical priorities of a Virtual Meeting are the same as any tutoring appointment.
Just like all other kinds of appointments, this should be a dialogic, collaborative process that draws on both your expertise as a tutor and writer and the student’s specialized knowledge of the content and context of the writing task. However, there are some specific ways that the added technology of a Virtual Meeting influences how you can be an effective tutor through these modalities. |
